“Sly town ‘til the death of me. Add the East side to the recipe.”
— BIG MEATS
BIG MEATS aka Quentin Jackson was born October of 1988 in Sylvester, GA.
Raised in the 229, Meats found his passion for music at the tender age of 9. Growing up, MEATS became a huge fan of the southern hip hop group “Field Mob” based out of Albany, GA, about 20 minutes away from his hometown. Seeing this small town group impact the music industry inspired MEATS to venture into changing the perception of small town talent. Admiring the artistry of artists like NAS, Big K.R.I.T and Kanye West, MEATS’S musical library expanded into an influential classroom.
At 13, BIG MEATS developed his own appetite for the music industry. He discovered his flow through freestyles in the classroom, on the football field and in the cafeteria. Over the next few years, he became a student of the game crafting his own style. In 2004, Kanye released "The College Dropout" and the timing was never better. The album helped solidify his pursuit of hip-hop. His dream was now his reality and it could no longer be ignored. "The College Dropout" would be the most important album in his life until one of his own.
During his senior year of college, BIG MEATS began conquering the mic and developing his core fan base (College Grad Losers). In 2012, he released his first project entitled, "Soul Foul Scriptures". An EP that resulted in him being featured by local Atlanta bloggers: Str8 Out Da Den, Zillanoise, Broke 2 Dope, and Benzonnian18. He followed up the project with the mixtape series "2-A-Daze". with Vol. 1 releasing in 2012 and "2-A-Daze II" following in 2013.
On May 3, 2015, his debut album entitled, "Financial Aid" was released. BIG MEATS realeased his sophmore album Boy MEATS World on February 27, 2017.
